Bacteria (Pseudomonas).
It's normal! The bacteria naturally living on paw pads (Pseudomonas and Proteus) give off a yeasty smell. If strong/inflamed, it's an infection.
Trimming
Trim hair between pads to reduce sweat/bacteria buildup.
